Palm Sunday was a Public Action

PALM SUNDAY is the moment Jesus made a public, courageous, and deeply spiritual entry into the center of power. He rode into Jerusalem not to blend in or remain silent, but to confront political corruption, religious complicity, and systems that harmed God’s people. This movement is the beginning of a statewide journey. A movement grounded in Scripture, humility, justice, and collective moral courage.

Principles of the Palm Sunday Movement

  • He challenged the systems that harmed the poor and silenced the vulnerable.

  • Discipleship requires more than belief. It requires making our faith visible in the public square.

  • Jesus demonstrated a new kind of authority, rooted in humility, justice, and truth.

  • We are not seeking political control. We are reclaiming a public life for what is good, right, and just.

  • Across Ohio, congregations will unite, rise, and stand together as a public witness to the God of justice and liberation.

Ohio Needs a Moral Movement

Our communities face systems marked by:

  • political disregard for the poor and marginalized

  • unchecked power in state institutions

  • policies that harm families, workers, and children

  • moral neglect in public decision-making

We believe God is calling clergy and congregations to reclaim our role as moral leaders in Ohio to bring light where power has grown dark, and truth where decisions have become unjust.
